IPv6 leasing guide
How IPv6 /32 leasing works
IPv6 /32 leasing gives a network operator the use of a large IPv6 prefix under agreed terms. It does not transfer ownership of the resource and does not automatically provide connectivity or a routed announcement.
What a /32 provides
The first 32 bits identify the IPv6 prefix. Operators can plan the remaining 96 bits for smaller subnets, customers, sites and services. For example, a /32 contains 65,536 distinct /48 prefixes. A lease is subject to verification and the agreed intended use.
Who should consider a /32?
ISPs, hosting and infrastructure providers and other operators planning multiple IPv6 networks may need a /32. An ASN holder must still confirm with an upstream that the prefix can be announced and accepted; an ASN alone does not create an Internet connection.
From enquiry to activation
- Send an IPv6 lease enquiry with your organisation and preferred prefix size.
- Elisteka manually reviews intended use, ASN, upstream routing, business eligibility and verified aggregate inventory.
- Confirm the lease term, pricing, technical scope and service agreement.
- After signing and payment, coordinate the agreed routing records, authorisation and handover. Activation time is confirmed individually, not guaranteed by the form.
Published IPv6 prices
A /32 costs €29 per month, excluding VAT. The first 3 months are paid upfront (€87).
A /29 costs €149 per month billed monthly, or €1,608 prepaid for 12 months (€134 monthly equivalent). Prices exclude VAT and the prepayment is a separate billing option. /28 and shorter prefixes are quoted individually. Prices do not imply availability.
Routing and handover
The agreed setup includes ROA/RPKI coordination, a route6 object, LOA where applicable and reverse DNS coordination. A DNSBL sample check before handover helps identify sampled reputation signals; it is not a guarantee that the whole block is clear. Registry records, LOAs and ROAs cannot guarantee worldwide route propagation or acceptance by any upstream.
Acceptable use
Standard leasing excludes proxy and VPN relay services, spam and automated data collection unless separately approved where approval is available under the applicable service policy. Prohibited abusive activity is not acceptable. Read the Acceptable Use Policy and Service Terms before applying.
Frequently asked questions
What is an IPv6 /32?
An IPv6 /32 is a prefix with 96 remaining address bits. It can be planned into smaller customer, site or service prefixes; it is not a single IPv6 address.
Who typically needs a /32?
ISPs, hosting providers and network operators that need structured IPv6 addressing across multiple networks or customers. The intended use, origin ASN and upstream must fit the proposed lease.
Do I need an ASN?
A routing arrangement with a suitable origin ASN and an upstream willing to accept the announcement is required for the agreed deployment. Elisteka checks the ASN and upstream during manual review.
What does a /32 lease cost?
The public rate is €29 per month excluding VAT, with €87 paid upfront for the first 3 months. The contract terms are confirmed before activation.
Can I request a /29 or a larger prefix?
A /29 contains eight /32 prefixes. Its published price is €149 per month, or €1,608 upfront for a separate 12-month prepaid option (equivalent to €134 per month). /28 and shorter prefixes require an individual quote. All prices exclude VAT.
What routing work is included?
The agreed setup includes coordination of ROA/RPKI, route6 and reverse DNS, and an LOA where applicable. A DNSBL sample check is performed before handover. None of these steps guarantees third-party routing or reputation outcomes.
Can I use the space for proxy, VPN or bulk outreach?
Proxy or VPN relay, spam and automated data collection are not permitted under the standard lease without separate approval where applicable; prohibited or abusive activity is not accepted.
Does submitting the form reserve a prefix?
No. Enquiries are reviewed manually for availability, organisation, intended use, ASN, upstream and terms. Nothing is reserved or activated until the review, agreement and payment steps are completed.
