IPv4 brokerage · ELISTEKA

Buy or sell IPv4 addresses with a clear closing process.

We review seller authority and resource status, help qualify buyer requirements, coordinate independent escrow where appropriate, and handle eligible RIPE transfer steps as an LIR. No transfer or closing date is promised before review.

RIPE IPv4 transfer

Understand the checks, documents, escrow coordination and registry steps before a transfer proceeds.

01 · Review

Check resource and authority

Confirm the registered holder, seller authority, resource status, routing context and any transfer constraints.

02 · Match

Agree commercial terms

Define the prefixes, purchase price, buyer-paid commission, external escrow and closing conditions in writing.

03 · Close

Coordinate transfer

Coordinate the RIPE NCC process and evidence required for escrow release. The registry and escrow provider retain their own decision roles.

Registry coordination

RIPE IPv4 transfer: checks, documents and handover.

Elisteka helps sellers and buyers prepare a documented transaction, check the resource and the parties, coordinate independent escrow where appropriate, and work through the applicable RIPE NCC transfer steps as an LIR.

Submitting an enquiry does not reserve an address block, create a sale agreement or guarantee registry approval or completion time.

01 · Authority

Verify the parties

Check the registered holder, authority to act, organisation details and relevant registry records. Request sensitive documents only through an agreed secure process.

02 · Resource

Review the prefix

Confirm exact prefixes, resource type, current registration and any visible routing, RPKI, IRR, reverse-DNS or reputation considerations that could affect handover.

03 · Terms

Agree escrow conditions

Document the purchase price, the buyer-paid commission, the independent escrow provider, the required evidence and what happens if a transfer cannot proceed.

04 · Registry

Coordinate RIPE NCC steps

Coordinate the required paperwork and follow-up as an LIR. The registry reviews the transfer under its current policies and controls the registry outcome.

05 · Handover

Plan routing and operations

Agree who updates ROAs, route objects, rDNS, geofeed, upstream announcements and customer notifications. These are operational tasks distinct from the registry transfer itself.

Information that helps us review a transfer

  • Exact prefixes and current RIR/resource status.
  • Registered holder and the authorised seller contact.
  • Target transaction value and preferred timing.
  • Current origin ASN and routing context, if known.
  • Any leases, ROAs, IRR objects, rDNS delegations or other handover dependencies.

Do not email identity documents in an initial enquiry. We will explain what documentation is needed and how to provide it.

FAQ

IPv4 brokerage and RIPE transfer questions

What does IPv4 brokerage cost?

The buyer pays the brokerage commission: 8% of the completed deal value, with a minimum €900 per transaction, excluding VAT. It is payable only after a successful closing. Selling through Elisteka is free for the seller.

Does Elisteka hold escrow funds?

No. Where escrow is appropriate, the parties can use an independent third-party escrow provider. Its charges are agreed and paid separately at cost. Funding, transfer evidence and release conditions must be agreed in writing.

Can Elisteka coordinate a RIPE IPv4 transfer?

Elisteka can coordinate the documentation and RIPE NCC transfer process as an LIR, subject to the resources being eligible and the registry's requirements. RIPE NCC makes the final registry decisions.

Does submitting an enquiry initiate a transfer?

No. It starts a manual review. A transfer proceeds only after the parties agree terms, required documentation is ready and eligibility is checked.

What happens to ROA, route objects and reverse DNS?

The parties should document the current ROA/RPKI, IRR route objects, reverse-DNS delegations, geofeed and BGP announcement plan. The required updates depend on the resource, receiving network and agreed handover. They are not all automatically changed by a registry transfer.

Should I buy or lease IPv4?

Buying may suit a long-term requirement and an eligible transfer; leasing avoids a purchase transaction and provides use under a lease. Compare total cost, cash flow, registry status and operational responsibilities before deciding.

Can IPv6 be an alternative?

Yes. IPv6 may meet some or all of a network's addressing needs. Elisteka offers IPv6 leasing and can discuss relevant RIPE sponsorship options separately.
